Best variety and massive book library
5.05 years ago
Comments:Needed a way to bring several people up to speed on a ton of subjects.
Pros:
I love the vast variety of subjects this covers. Lots of videos and interactive sessions compliment that ginormous amount of books they have.
Cons:
Sometimes hard to find what you need, pricing is a little bit high even though you are getting a lot of content.

Worth it for the "HeadFirst" books
4.05 years ago
Comments:The business problems we are solving with O'Reilly is having the ability to learn new apps and skills at our finger tips, with easy to follow resources. Because there are a variety of different media types, many different users can all find a source that works best for them, depending on the way you learn - which is what makes it a great tool for a company.
Pros:
By far my favorite part of the O'Reilly app are the Head First books. If you are someone who is hands on and has to DO something in order to learn it, you should definitely check these books out. The are fun and interactive, almost like an activity book as opposed to a text book. Another great part about using O'Reilly is that it gives you a free 10-day trial (no credit card required) with full access, which gives you a chance to really take a look around the site and see if it's the type of thing you're looking for.
Cons:
The one thing I don't really like is how the menu is set up on the site. They don't have a section for "media type" in the pull-down menu (such as book, video, webinar, etc.) and most of the time that is the way I want to browse. They have some categories like this on the main homepage but it would be a lot better to have it on the main menu where it's always accessible. Also, it is a little on the pricier side compared to similar apps.

The amount of knowledge here is insane !
4.03 years ago
Comments:It has been magnificent. As someone who needs to constantly learn on the job, I find having this a great for of reassurance that what I ever I want to learn is available and not only that but also available in spectacular quality.
Pros:
It is amazing, as Machine learning engineer I have benefited directly from this learning platform in many ways. There is a crazy amount of books on all sorts of different topics. There is an insane amount of video courses from IT professionals. There are learning paths that you could take. Not to mention that the O' Reilly books in general are usually very well written. The content is simply awesome.
Cons:
Perhaps the only reason that I did not give it 5 stars is because in the UI needs slightly a bit more polishing but other than that if you are there for the CONTENT, it has it. It is all there.

Amazing content at your fingertips
4.09 months ago
Pros:
Way beyond YouTube you literally have thousands of media available from ebooks to videos from the world’s most influential leaders and tech giants. I loved finding tutorials on things like coding that have enabled me to be self taught in my side projects.
Cons:
It’s too expensive for just myself more for larger companies. I did enjoy the free trial.
